How to Play

The Goal

Be the first player to reach the center square.

Game Setup

Each player chooses a pawn and places it on the starting square.
Each player rolls one die. The highest roller goes first; ties re-roll.
For each new game, the winner of the previous game goes first.
Turns move clockwise.

On Your Turn

Roll one die and move forward that many spaces along the spiral toward the center.
If you roll a 6, take another turn after completing your move and any actions triggered by your landing square.

Safe Squares

Any number of pawns may share a Safe square. Pawns on Safe squares cannot be bumped backward, swept along by a slyyde, or chosen for “Move Any Player Back 6.”

Black Squares

If you begin your turn on a black square and roll a 1 or 6, you may slyyde diagonally inward one square instead of moving the number rolled. If you rolled a 6, you still get another turn.

Slyyde™ Triangles

When your pawn lands on a magenta Slyyde™ Triangle, immediately slyyde to its corresponding Safe square. Opponents in that straight path slyyde to the same Safe square with you. Pawns already on Safe squares stay where they are.

If a pawn is moved backward onto a Slyyde™ Triangle, it must also slyyde.

Move Any Player Back 6

When you land on this square, choose one opponent and move their pawn back six spaces. Pawns on Safe squares cannot be chosen. If all opponents are on Safe squares, take no action.

Your turn then ends, unless you rolled a 6, which gives you another turn.

Landing on Another Player

If you land on an opponent’s pawn, move that opponent back six spaces. Safe squares allow sharing, so no pawn is moved backward there.

If an opponent occupies a “Move Any Player Back 6” square when you land on it, first move that opponent back six spaces. Then choose an eligible opponent for the square’s separate Back 6 action.

Solo Play — 1 Player

Play on your own and challenge yourself to reach the center in as few rolls as possible.

Follow the regular rules for moving, Safe squares, Black squares, and Slyyde Triangles.
Count every die roll, including extra rolls earned by rolling a 6.
If you land on “Move Any Player Back 6,” take no action.
When you reach the center, record your total rolls. Play again and try to beat your score!

Reaching the Center

You must roll the exact number needed to reach the center. If your roll is too high, stay where you are. A roll of 6 still gives you another turn.

The first player to reach the center wins!

Note: There is a cool gray link below the bottom of the board that says, “Replay last move 1/2 speed).” This is fun to review and an interesting or complex move.

Fun Fact: Being in the path of a player’s slyyde can be dangerous, as one can be moved back from 8 spaces to 69 spaces.  For example, an opponent on square #64 can be swept back to Safe square #56 when someone lands on triangle #37 (64 − 56 = 8 spaces back.) Other examples: a pawn at square #41 goes back 20 spaces; a pawn at square #90 goes back a devastating 69 spaces.
